It's me, and maybe you, together.

Surprises are alway awesome

Last night, was amazing. After wrapping up a birthday gathering at her parents house, my friend picked the next destination so the good vibes wouldn't end so early. I have to say - I'm still so excited about her choice. The sound guy at the bar my friend is employed at had a going away event planed there, and we arrived just a few minutes before the last band was to perform. We wiggled our way up to the front as usual and after about one song I had that 'I know this guy' feeling overwhelm me. I asked the birthday girl if she had heard of a band that I thought the front man had been affiliated with but she was unsure. I turned to my friend, who's musical diversity and knowledge far exceeds mine that we had bumped into at the show if he knew the band. He proceeded to open his unbuttoned flannel to reveal a tee-shirt that read "Old Time Relijun" - the exact band I had been speaking of. I was floored that I had just stumbled into the show of ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO.

Needless to say, as a long time fan, I was pleased and not at all disappointed in the performance. I was elated, actually. I have not seen that MANY people move their bodies, and move them as much as they did in this city, at this show, in a VERY long time. Wonderful!

I know this may not be everyone's cup of tea... but you know... I'm strange.

The sound on this one isn't great - but it really captures the performers well (although it was only a different female-drummer and the bassist w. Arrington last night)- not to mention, the crowd shots are pretty hilarious.

I'm sitting in the dark (well... ok I sort of lie sometimes; I suppose the light over the kitchen sink counts as 'not in the dark'), with a hovering/hungry pet near. Waiting. I hate that I get up before the sun when I have wander off to an under appreciated but over paid sales position that is really quite terrible and wasting my time - but I shouldn't complain.. for so many reasons, but I feel like I can still get away with it somehow....

All that I want is to stay right here and listen to the rain.

That or drown it out with some old Library Tapes.

What's going to get you through your somber morning?

Dearest Imaginary Friends

I know right now no one is reading this, which may make my posting a little creepy. But, I feel the need to say that at some point I do intend to make more elaborate/ thoughtful posts. For now things are indeed minimal and crass... I've got a couple other blogs, a full time job, a home, a pet, family and friends to appease, bars to drink at, shows to see etc. I know I know, my own fault for spreading myself thin, but along the way I hope to have fit time management into the sphere of me- to you know, share things with nobody.

California Dreamin'

See Above

The general census around this time of year shows a great number of sad hearts.  Summer is ending.  Do we embrace the tender months ahead or fight them the whole way through- until hot sunny days once again bewitches us with its sweet lazy days?

Today, the gloom of the nearing Fall overwhelms.

I've been feeling this sound for a couple days now.

and a throw back

Quite honestly- hearing about what crappy music your girl is listening to over and over is becoming a bit of a bore. We get it, you're awesome. You are in 'the know' with all the sweet new rockin tracks and are on the hunt for the next big thing.  Your lady friend could care less and you feel the need for man love.  WE GET IT.  But, please, stop twirling your bitches around us to parade around yet another one of your big wins in the battle of wit, and relax a little on the girlfriend thing. You picked 'em - not our problem. (And, you needn't bash them to enjoy what you dig in your VIP music space, jeepers!).

In spirit of real-talk, here are some old school ladies who certainly wouldn't have let you take them for a spin, unless you're in your dancin' shoes, maybe.

***Note, Still working out SEVERAL kinks to the blog, be patient with me, pretty plz :) ***

Hi!  I simply want to share things that I love.  It may be a song from my day, a song new from yesterday, something big for tomorrow, or just something attached to a random thought.

Maybe you'll love some of the same things.  Maybe you won't. That's okay by me. Perhaps you want to share things that you love too.  Go for it, I encourage you with gold star stickers and cookies after such bravery...

Somewhere around the beginning, while quickly abandoning a shaky past, when all that is weird was born in me, music had made the world a lot less lonesome.

In the beginning, Clinic made me feel at peace. They weren't the first of my strange adventures of an ear candy binge,  but they certainly opened me up to a world I had once never even known was around.
